The Lincoln Viking Has You Covered

One of the constants for anyone that works in the heavy industry is that this particular career choice really lives up to its name. Regardless of what job you do in heavy industry, it’s a big, vital role for an important part of the infrastructure that so much of modern life relies on. Because of that importance, heavy industry is always changing, looking at ways to improve how skilled tradesmen get their job done.
Welding is no exception to this. It’s been a part of heavy industry for as long as industry itself has been a part of society. But it’s very challenging work that requires a mix of skill, a good eye, a steady hand, and nerves of steel to do a difficult task under what can be risky or even dangerous conditions. It means working with the right tools and protection, like a Lincoln Viking Welding Helmet.

    The Lincoln Tradition

Lincoln Electric is one of the oldest companies in the business, with a history of working in the industry that stretches back over 100 years. They’ve worked closely with the people who actually do the work, creating the tools they’ve used over the decades, and paving the way for more innovation and efficiency, helping to raise the productivity of America’s tradesmen, and, subsequently, America’s quality of work itself.
When it comes to welding, this is an area where Lincoln is an old hand. From the earliest welding torches and protective gear, Lincoln has been there. Today, they continue that tradition, constantly looking at the demands and challenges of this task, and working to maintain that delicate balance between utility, comfort, and protection. The Viking Welding Helmet is just one more example of that commitment.

    Making Your Work Easier

The Polar Arc Viking Welding Helmet is another more personalized model of the 3350 Lincoln Viking line, which is the Lincoln solution to bringing more premium features into a mid-price range of models. This has all the standard features of the Viking series, including the increased field of view, up to 28% more than some competitor models, the longer battery life that lets you work with fewer interruptions, and the greater comfort due to the unique pivot-style configuration of the headgear. For fans of the north or patriotic Canadians, it also has a playful design that honors the Great White North.
In terms of actual function, this Lincoln Viking helmet uses a recent development in visual systems called 4C Lens Technology. This stands for clarity, color, carat and cut, and it means improved 1/1/1/1 optics, and much more true-to-life representation of colors. With older auto-dimming systems, one of the unavoidable side-effects of the eye protection is a “bleeding” of the lime green color tinting the entire field of vision. 4C technology makes a huge impact on reducing this effect, letting users see more accurately and reducing eyestrain at the same time. If you work with MIG, TIG or Stick welding, you can use this helmet comfortably in any situation, whether it’s general fabrication in the shop or offshore at a marine facility.
